A historic New England town that’s worth the visit
Founded in 1662, Uxbridge is a small town with a rich heritage. During the 1800s, Uxbridge Quakers devoted their lives to the anti-slavery movement, and Uxbridge is home to the nation’s first mental health hospital. Named after the Earl of Uxbridge, the town has a population of a little over 13,000 people and is located outside of Boston. Whether you’re a tourist or a local, there’s plenty to do in Uxbridge. Blackstone Blackstone River and Canal Heritage State Park is great for outdoor activities and the Southwick Zoo is certain to keep kids of all ages entertained. The natural beauty of Uxbridge attracts tourists all year long.
